HONG CHUL WONDERLAND Key Visual

NOROO Group, a leading Korean industry in the Color sector, presents to Milan Design Week 2024 with the ‘Hong Chul Wonderland' project in Tortona District at Officina 3, OPIFICIO 31. 

NOROO shows its color trend in collaboration with the visionary Spanish artist OKUDA San Miguel. 

‘Hong Chul Wonderland' is a space that emanates positive energy through colors inspired by South Korean entertainer and entrepreneur, Ro Hong Chul.

He is well-known for his challenging activities with his energetic and optimistic character. 

The facade of Officina 3, one of the most iconic buildings of the Fuorisalone, will be covered in the new colors selected by NOROO and created by Okuda San Miguel.

For this special exhibition, Okuda San Miguel crafted a visual and sensory journey to immerse visitors in his artwork through the influence and inspiration of Ro Hong Chul.

Ro Hong Chul_Entertainer, Entrepreneur

Ro Hong Chul is a Korean entertainer and entrepreneur known for his distinctive and unique character and style and life-philosophy.

in July 2004, he debuted in the broadcasting industry as a video jockey for Mnet and worked as a panelist and MC for various shows and entertainment programs. With his unique talkativeness, strong personality, and qualities as a versatile broadcaster, has grown into a mainstream broadcaster of Korean entertainment programs. 

 In 2010, he was appointed as an adjunct professor at the Department of Fashion Arts, Seoul National University of Arts. Over the next decades, he worked in various programs, including , and was widely loved as an irreplaceable, unique character. He is currently a DJ and active broadcaster, an artist, and an entrepreneur.

 He is an iconic symbol of optimism, positive character, and activities, currently he focuses on his own business of restaurants, bookstores and being an artist, demonstrating unique creatives of his positive image and optimism.

3. Artist_ Okuda San Miguel

Okuda San Miguel_ Painter, Sculptor 

Okuda San Miguel is a Spanish painter and sculptor known for his distinctive style of colorful geometric patterns that portray animals, skulls, religious iconography, and human figures. He is perhaps most famous for painting the Kaos Temple in Llanera, Asturias, Spain. His murals can be seen on buildings and objects across the world in India, Mali, France, the United States, Japan, Chile, Brazil, Peru, South Africa, Mexico, Canada, Morocco, Ukraine and Spain. 

His murals often focus on contradictions in existentialism, the meaning of life, and the false freedom of capitalism, particularly on the conflict between modernity and our human roots. He is interested in pop art, especially in cinema and fashion, as well as in the light and color of other cultures, which allows him to incorporate all these interests into his style. Sometimes he looks for inspiration in great classic works such as the Garden of the Delights of El Bosco or Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. As influences, he cites René Magritte, Max Ernst, Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami, and Hieronymus Bosch.
