NOROO Group’s 2011 New Year’s Kick off Meeting was held last January the 3rd at NOROO’s welfare center in Anyang factory. The Certificate of Appointment has been granted to the corresponding board members. Kwang-kyun Choi, vice chairman of NOROO Holdings Co., Ltd. was appointed to CEO of NOROO Holdings(H.K.) Co., Ltd. Jeong-mo Yang, president of NOROO Holdings Co., Ltd. to CEO of NOROO Holdings, Yeong-ho Jo, president of NOROO BEE Chemical Co,. Ltd. to CEO of NOROO Automotive Coating Co., Ltd. Moreover, Chong-suk Park, director of NOROO Automotive Coating Co., Ltd. was appointed to senior director and Dong-chun Key, director of NOROO Chemical Co., Ltd. to senior director. In the New Year’s Address, Chairman & CEO Young-jae Han emphasized the corporate management index of “Harmony and Development in the mist of change” and urged to boost current business competitiveness in a fast-changing business environment and to consolidate the foundation for future growth and development.

Lean Sigma Course in NOROO’s Chinese Branch in Sha...

Picking up where it left off last May, NOROO restarted its Lean Sigma course beginning on August 26~27 at the NOROO branch in Shanghai. Keeping the original six groups from the previous course, each group had to choose a theme that could be improved. Education was given on how to apply the DMAIC Six Sigma Methodology, along with group discussion sessions on the company’s future direction with the executive office. The course also covered how to efficiently process development, enhancement and issue solutions. Last but not least, the progress of the companywide long-term inventory control improvement campaign, one of the Big-Y projects, held in Anyang was shared with the local staff as the project is to be similarly d at the Shanghai branch in the near future.

NOROO Holdings Co., Ltd. moves its Japan HQ

In light of the NOROO Group’s globalization effort and as a steppingstone for East Asia, NOROO Holdings Co., Ltd. Japan Headquarters moved to a new office in NBF Hibiya building located in Ginza, the heart of Tokyo. The opening ceremony of the new office was held in July 6. Choi, Kwang-kyun, vice-chairman of NOROO Holdings Co., Ltd., as well as Lee, Sang-chul, director, and Kim, Dong-bin, deputy general manager and many advisers, Takano Akiyoshi, Kaneko Hideaki, Onishi Kiyoshi and Araki Koji, professor of Tokyo University, participated in the opening ceremony.On this day, Choi, Kwang-kyun announced that “There are no boundaries between countries now. Our Japan Headquarters will be standing at the forefront of the global network.” He had great expectation from the headquarters. Professor Araki Koji also celebrated the occasion, announcing that “It is amazing that Japan Headquarters moved to a new building in Hibiya, the center of Japan’s information industry. I expect the headquarter will make an impact in Japan and the world.”

On last March 19, NOROO Holdings Co., Ltd. held the 64th shareholders’ meeting in the NOROO welfare center of Anyang main office. On this day, the shareholders and employees of NOROO Holdings Co., Ltd. participated in the event. Choi, Kwang-kyun, a vice chairman of NOROO Holdings Co., Ltd., reported the company’s key agendas such as business performance and financial status from the last year. Choi, Kwang-kyun commented, “the year 2009 began as a challenging year. But our employees reminded challenging spirit of our founder and put every effort to overcome threats. As a result, we’ve recorded operating profit of KRW 10 billion and net profit of KRW 8.7 billion in 2009. For 2010, we will set management index of ‘lead the changes through imagination and creativity’ to become a global company, making a bold step towards a brighter future.”In this meeting, our shareholders approved the balance sheet and income statements from the last year as well as dividends of KRW 200(common stock) and KRW 305(preferred stock) for the statement of retained earnings. In addition, Choi, Kwang-kyun, a director, and Choi, Kwang-ju, an outside director, have been reappointed and Lee, Ju-kil has been newly appointed as a director while Lee, Seung-mun, an audit committee member, has been reappointed.

DPI Holdings CO., Ltd. Changing the Company Name t...

DPI Holdings Co., Ltd., the holding company of the NOROO Group, has decided to change the company name to NOROO Holdings Co., Ltd. as a part of integration of the Group’s CI under the NOROO title to make a second leap. Through the 64th shareholders’ meeting on March 19 2010, DPI Holdings Co., Ltd. has changed its name to NOROO Holdings Co., Ltd. Under the new CI and company name, NOROO Holdings Co., Ltd. pursues the business model of strategic overseas collaboration, opening and developing a brighter future along with the global partners.

NOROO Group, Green Management Education

The world is now paying attention to Green Growth concept, a new way to manage a company to reduce carbon dioxide, the cause of global warming. The Green Growth concept covers both the environment (Green) and Growth. Usually, these concepts are contrary to each other in industrial society, but they are put together as a new growth paradigm in developed countries. Under a catch phrase of a “beautiful World, Clean Environment” NOROO Group has long practiced Green Growth management to protect our precious environment. Following the company step, every employee of NOROO Paint & Coatings Co., Ltd. understood the need to learn about the Green Growth concept. Therefore, the company held an online education for Green Management & Growth between November 1st and 30th, educating managers and higher. Furthermore, DPI Holdings Co., Ltd. instituted same program for managers and higher officers on December and plans to train assistant managers and other regular employees in January 2010.

NOROO Group affiliated companies will change their names under the NOROO Logo, and the name of the holding company is planned to be changed in the future. By uniting the Group logo, NOROO plans to expand its overseas business in China, Vietnam, Saudi and other countries. Furthermore, the Group will start a full-scale globalization by promoting localization. Conducting a Marketing Expert Education of NOROO G...

The first education of a marketing expert of NOROO Group was held between September 15 and 16, for two days, in Daekyo HRD center. The education title was “Market Place : Marketing Simulation”.21 future leaders from sales and technical department of NOROO Group will participate in the education, receiving a monthly education between September 2009 and April 2010. The education includes a normal lecture as well as case analysis and action learning to establish strategies needed in the real business environment. The participants will submit action learning and eventually will make a presentation in front of the management.

Releasing a New Product ‘Pingo VK’, a Virus Killer ...

NOROO Paint&Coatings Co., Ltd. released a new product named “Pingo VK”, an effective virus killer against a contagious swine flu. With technical cooperation from Teroson in Japan, NOROO submitted Pingo VK to JFRL, certified by JFDA, testing effectiveness of Pingo VK against H1N1 flu. The result shows that Pingo VK kills 99.9% of viruses. In addition, Pingo VK kills 397 other bacteria, germs and fungus including 57 germs that are found in a residential environment. Pingo VK is the solution for eradicating viruses.Pingo VK is a spray type product, and it can be easily used by anyone in any places such as houses and public facilities including offices, hospitals, airports and subways where many people regularly contact with each other.

The 7th class graduation ceremony of the graduate ...

The in-house graduate school established to “educate technicians to work in the global age” graduated 16 responsible deputy section managers of DPI Holdings Co., Ltd., NOROO Paint & Coatings Co., Ltd., Daihan Coil Coatings., Co., Ltd. and CK Co., Ltd. from the 7th class this year.Officers including President Choi, Gwang-Gyun and the head of the research institute Lee, Ju-Gil attended the 7th class graduation ceremony of the graduate school of technologies held on April 24, 2009 to encourage the graduates.They completed the curriculum of 143 hours professional education for experts in paint including all areas related to technologies such as resin, analyses, changes in paint markets and rheology, theory of adhesion, physical properties of paints, theories of various bases including plastic, marketing strategies, patents, engineering, and accounting.

Noroo Paint Honored by President for Its Extraordi...

NOROO Paint was honored with the “Presidential National Quality Award (Environment management category) in the KOEX Auditorium, Samseong-dong, Seoul on November 19.The National Quality Awards is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and organized by the Korean Standards Association. Noroo Paint was initially ed in June as a candidate based on the documentation it had submitted. An on-site assessment was conducted by a team of 5 professors in professional fields from August 18 to August 20. Excellent scores were awarded based on criteria from the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Awards.There were 10 categories for the National Awards that Deputy Minister of the Knowledge Economy Ministry granted that day and the recognition of NOROO Group's (Noroo Paint) achievement in the environment management category is rich in meaning to company employees, the industry, and current and prospective customers.

Noroo Paint Partners with Saudi Arabia’s AKA Group ...

On November 28, President Abdulla and Marketing Officer Badell of Saudi Arabia’s AKA visited Noroo Paint’s Anyang Plant to make a technical partnership agreement. AKA Group representatives who visited the Anyang Plant signed a joint investment agreement and headed to the Poseung Plant to tour its auto painting line.The AKA Group is Saudi Arabia’s leader in the auto-refinishing industry and plans to partner with Noroo Paint in its business in Saudi Arabia, other Middle East countries, and Africa based on this partnership agreement.
